Landscape photography

Many landscape photographs show little or no human activity and are created in the pursuit of a pure, unsullied depiction of nature devoid of human influence, instead featuring subjects such as strongly defined land forms, weather, and ambient light. As with most forms of art, the definition of a landscape photograph is broad, and may include urban settings, industrial areas, and nature photography,.
landscapes were originally used primarily to fill in the blank space behind a person or scene by painters, and other artists. However as art and photography has evolved, the “background” was seen to have artistic value in and of itself. Today, landscape photography is a very popular pursuit.
A good landscape picture should make a connection with the viewer, and tell you a story. A good landscape picture will have you finding interesting details in the photo for several months after you first see it.
The skill is to entertain the viewer within the singular moment of the photo. Capturing the instant in time, and preserving it forever, can make it into something amazing.
It can remind you of a certain location, a certain point in time, or a period of your life.
The term “Urban Landscape” describes photographs of the city taken in the manner of a landscape, using buildings and other man-made features as graphical elements of composition that are treated in the same way the photographer would treat mountains and trees.

Why is photography so important?
Photography is important because it enables the diffusion of objective information through the visual capture of things as they really are. It allows people to accurately familiarize themselves with far-off landscapes and cultures. It also has the power to sway public opinion through the presentation of emotionally moving images.
How did photography become art?
In 1885, an art movement called Pictorialisim began, where a photographer would manipulate photographs with chemicals to change the way they looked. however, the public desired photographs that were sharply focused, and the movement ended in 1920. Stieglitz was a large contributor during those times and lobbied his position through his work. finally in 1924, the collection of 27 of his photographs, recognizing photography as a major artistic medium.
photography became an art largely due to the efforts of Alfred Stieglitz. in the early 20th century, Stieglitz used his influenced to bolster support that photography was an art, which eventually led to him being the first photographer featured in a museum.
What is the purpose of photography?
Photography is part of the evolution of human desire to capture and express life; since the earliest days of artistic expression and documentation in the form of cave painting, humans have been attempting to capture and record life around themselves in various formats, including drawing, painting, sculpturing, writing and photographing.
The question of photography ultimate purpose in many ways a deeply philosophical question, though the easy response can be seen in the ways people use cameras and what they choose as their subjects. since cameras became widely available in the 1990's, people have been capturing still images of their lives by photographing their families, the places they visit, the things that are important to them and even themselves.

What is photography?

What is Photography?
Well to begin with the word photography comes from two ancient Greek words; photos, for "light" and graph for "drawing". "Drawing and Light" is a way of describing photography. when a photograph is made, light or some other form of radiant energy, such as X rays, is used to record a picture of an object or scene on a light-sensitive surface.
photography is based on one important thing: Vision, call it vision, imagination, or seeing. it all comes down to the same thing , the ability to think about what you want to create in your minds eyes and then to make it with the tools at hand- in other wards if there is something in specific that you want to create just go for it, experiment and find your perfect piece.
Its always been about seeing something, knowing how you want it to look and making it so...."making it so" is the easy part, seeing it in the first place is what makes you a photographer.
photography always requires light to duplicate the real-life image being taken. it enlists the use of a camera to capture the image needed to produce the recreation of the image onto photographic film.
"Photography can only represent the present. Once photographed, the subject becomes part of the past"- Berenice Abbott.
